CodePus (“we”, “our”, or “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy applies to the CodePus website (codepus.ai), the CodePus IDE desktop application, and all related services. Please read this policy carefully before using our services.

  • Account Information: Email address, username, avatar, and other information you provide during registration.
  • Usage Data: Types and frequency of CodePus IDE features used (e.g., AI conversation count, code completion count, model selection preferences).
  • Technical Data: IP address, browser type, operating system, device identifiers, timezone, and language settings.
  • Payment Information: Payment data processed through third-party processors (e.g., Stripe, Alipay, WeChat Pay). We do not directly store your complete payment card information.
  • Communication Data: Content you submit through support tickets, emails, or feedback forms.

3. Code Privacy

CodePus takes your code privacy very seriously:

  • With Privacy Mode enabled, your code will not be sent to the cloud for analysis.
  • We do not use your code to train AI models.
  • Code data is protected with TLS 1.3 / AES-256 encryption during both transmission and storage.
  • When using AI features, only necessary context snippets are sent to third-party model providers (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic), and these providers are contractually prohibited from using your data for training.
  • Team administrators can further restrict the scope of code data transmission through policies.

4. How We Use Information

We use collected information to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve CodePus services
  • Process subscriptions, payments, and invoices
  • Send service notifications, security alerts, and product updates
  • Analyze usage trends to optimize the product experience
  • Prevent fraud, abuse, and ensure service security
  • Comply with legal obligations and regulatory requirements

5. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell your personal information. We only share data in the following cases:

  • With your explicit consent.
  • With third-party partners necessary for service provision (e.g., Stripe for payments, AWS/Alibaba Cloud for hosting, AI model providers).
  • As required by law or lawful government requests.
  • As necessary to protect our rights, property, or safety.
  • With affiliated companies (under equivalent privacy protections).

6. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies for:

  • Essential Cookies: Maintaining login state and remembering preferences.
  • Analytics Cookies: Understanding product usage to improve services (e.g., Google Analytics, Baidu Analytics).
  • You can manage or disable cookies through your browser settings, but this may affect some service functionality.
  • We do not use advertising tracking cookies.

7. Data Security

We employ industry-standard technical and organizational security measures to protect your data, including but not limited to: TLS 1.3 transport encryption, AES-256 encryption at rest, multi-factor authentication, least-privilege access controls, and regular security audits and penetration testing. Despite these measures, no internet transmission can be guaranteed 100% secure.

8. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain your data for as long as you maintain your account. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time through account settings or by contacting us. We will process deletion requests within 30 days, except where retention is required by law (e.g., financial records, dispute resolution records).

9. International Data Transfers

Your data may be stored on servers located in mainland China. For international users, data may be transferred across borders to jurisdictions necessary for service provision (e.g., AWS Singapore, United States). We ensure such transfers comply with applicable legal requirements and implement appropriate safeguards (e.g., Standard Contractual Clauses).

10. Children’s Privacy

CodePus services are not directed to individuals under 16 years of age. If we discover that we have inadvertently collected personal information from a minor, we will promptly delete the relevant data.

11. Your Rights

Under applicable data protection laws (including but not limited to China’s Personal Information Protection Law, EU GDPR, California CCPA), you have the right to:

  • Access a copy of your personal data held by us.
  • Correct inaccurate personal data.
  • Request deletion of your personal data.
  • Object to or restrict certain processing activities.
  • Data portability: Export your data in a structured format.
  • Withdraw previously given consent.
